A book review for Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi, she has the world in the palm of her hand with Warner by her side. When tragedy hits, who will she become?

Storyline

Juliette Ferrars thought she'd won. She took over Sector 45, was named the new Supreme Commander, and now has Warner by her side. But she's still the girl with the ability to kill with a single touch—and now she's got the whole world in the palm of her hand.

When tragedy hits, who will she become? Will she be able to control the power she wields and use it for good?

 My Thoughts

You can say that Restore Me hit me hard.  This book had me utterly speechless in the best possible way and I am so confused at this point, in a good way though. I don’t even know how to explain, there were happening so many things, I am just speechless. The plot twists in this book were amazing and I definitely didn’t see them coming. This was the best book I read in the series because the plot twists in this book were amazing. So many things were revealed that I didn’t see coming, oh my goodness.

I still do not know how to feel about this. This book was so much different than the other 3 books. Though the other 3 were really good this one definitely hit the spot. There were more times than ones where I was like, uh what is happening, and this isn’t really. This book really f* with my mind, to be honest.

Everything you thought about Juliette, Warner, and the Reestablishment everything is so much more complicated than I thought. When I started the shatter me series, I never thought it would be this insane. There were moments in this book where I wanted to throttle certain characters and other moments were my heart was singing with love and joy. Though I love to see how some characters developed so much, like Warner and Juliette, I loved to see that.

Spoilers from this point on!

When I was reading about the other kids of the supreme commander, I was so thrilled, and I couldn’t wait to continue this book. I knew that this book would be good because of the kids of the Supreme Commanders and Juliette was the Supreme Commander of North America, I was wondering how all of that would play out. When I was introduced to Nazeera Ibrahim, the daughter of the Supreme Commander of Asia, I already loved her. She was so mysterious, and I liked that about her. I also loved that she didn’t care about anyone and just did what she wanted. I appreciated her when she was wearing a hijab and didn’t care that it was illegal. From the moment I was introduced to her, I loved her, because she was her own person and didn’t care what anyone else thought about her. I also think that’s why Kenji liked her so much.

In the middle of the book, things were feeling so weird, and I just knew that there was going to be a big reveal about something, but I couldn’t put my mind to it. When I discovered the big secret, I was so confused and speechless. It was insane. Warner also had a small part in this, but I couldn’t blame him for what he did, he was a kid, didn’t who the girl was in the water tank and he just did what he was supposed to do by the Reestablishment. Though my heart did break a little because now Warner needed to spill all the secrets about her past and the secret, he kept for her. I didn’t really feel like his secret was such a big deal compared to all the secrets about her past that he also knew nothing about until Castile told him about it. Warner needed to tell Juliette and I understand that he was the one that should tell her because she trusted him and loved him so deeply. I liked that he was the one who told her instead of she is hearing it from someone else. Just like Castile said that if he told her, they maybe still have a future together, so I’m so happy that Warner was the one who told her. Otherwise, I don’t think they would ever get back together, and I still don’t know that, but I think that there is a possibility. When Warner eventually told her, I was so scared of how she would react. I understand how she reacted though because it was so much information and everything she has been through, and she thought was true was a lie. I felt so sorry for her because she didn’t deserve any of it.

 Aaron and Juliette

Again, I loved their relationship in this book. they both developed so much compared with the first book. they are perfect for each other. In the last few chapters of this book, my heart did break for them when they broke up, because of the secret Aaron was keeping from her. I understand why Aaron kept that secret from her, because what good would it do if she knew she was adopted even though her real parents were dead? I understand why he kept that secret even though it’s not fair toward Juliette.

Though at the beginning of the book there were so precious and sweet like they were in Ignite Me. You could just feel the love they had for each other throughout the book, it’s so beautiful. I do believe that they will end up together somehow because the ending proved that more and more. They already knew each other since they were kids, WHAT?

Ending

This book was so insane and so good. The ending really had me though, that was the moment where I was like this series is the best I have ever read and nothing can beat this series. It's just so good and mind-blowing.
