My thoughts 

At the beginning of the book, we find out that Warner didn’t try to torture Juliette, was trying to understand her and what she could do. He was trying to find a cure for someone dear to him. His mom. She had the power of Self-lethal touch; her touch killed her. His mom is called Leila Warner and even being in her own skin hurt her. I can’t imagine what that woman has gone through. She had the opposite power to Juliette. Warner was trying to find a cure, but he needed to convince his father to get Juliette to sector 45. That’s why he made up that story.

I loved Warner more when I discovered this. That he would go so far for his mom, it’s incredible. As I mentioned in the previous blogs, his father is a cruel man. He gave Leila (Warner’s mom) drugs so he wouldn’t have to take care of her. Because of him, she became addicted to drugs and eventually died at the end of Ignite Me. It was so sad, and I just saw how it broke Aaron. He was broken and he cried in Juliette’s arms. It was so so sad, to see him like that because he always was raised to be brave and to never show emotion. I was glad to see that he had emotion and was actually sad, but I think that’s also understandable when your mom dies. For Warner, it was rare though, because he wasn’t raised like that. I like to see that he still had some humanity within himself; throughout this story, I saw that he had a lot of that.  His mom was the only person that really loved him, but when she became addicted, his father ruined that for him too. His father, Paris, was such a cruel man and I also hate him from the ground of my heart. He is a horrible person.

When Warner found out about Adam and James being his brother, I was a little bit scared of his reaction. I was also very happy because his mom died but he got 2 brothers in return for it. Even though it’s sad that his mom, Leila died, I’m glad that he isn’t alone, and that he still has some family in the world. He deserves that because no one should be alone in the world they live in. I also felt after everything that happened with the two of them, when Warner found out that they were brothers, a weight was lifted off Adam’s shoulders. He was probably scared of warner’s reaction too if he ever found out and I get that because if you don’t really know Warner, he can be an intimidating and scary man. Though he really isn’t.

Even though Warner had a really shitty family, he still managed to have some humanity in him. I loved him so much in this book, he was so sweet. He was kind, caring, and a real leader. He also really loved Juliette so much and cared so much about her, he only ever cared about his mom, and to see him care so much about Juliette, it’s beautiful. I really believe that Warner is a good person, he probably did some horrible things in his past, but after everything that he has been through he still has some humanity. I have a lot of respect for that.

Warner offered up his training facilities for Juliette’s friends, Kenji, Branden, Winston, Lily, Alia, Ian, and Castile, I thought that was so sweet of him. Juliette asked Warner if he could help her get her friend's on  save ground because they were on illegal ground, I couldn’t imagine how much Warner loved Juliette at that point if he would do such thing for her. Warner doesn’t do things for other people, he isn’t raised like that. He loved her so much, he would give and do everything for her.
